With more than twenty-five years of experience, his primary area of practice is the resolution of business and other disputes through litigation and arbitration. He also provides general business advice and assistance in preparing contracts and other business documents.
Formerly the General Counsel for public and private companies in the telecommunications and consumer finance industries, Gary combines strong litigation and trial skills with an understanding of the way businesses operate and the risks they face. This has enhanced Gary's effectiveness as an advocate to proactively anticipate and manage, and defensively mitigate, transactional and other risks.
Gary has represented companies, individuals and entrepreneurs in disputes arising out of a variety of industries and business areas, including telecommunications, construction, banking, finance, real estate and manufacturing. More specifically, these disputes have included claims of breach of contract, fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, violations of non-compete and non-solicitation covenants, and statutory violations.
Gary has tried cases to judges and juries in state and federal courts in Colorado, Minnesota and Mississippi. He has arbitrated a variety of business-related disputes. He has taken and defended hundreds of depositions, including expert witnesses. Gary also has appellate experience, arguing cases before the Fifth and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Highlights of Gary's more significant litigation accomplishments include the following:
- Won a $1.5 million dollar verdict following a five-week jury trial in a Minnesota state court against the City of Saint Paul in a breach of contract action on behalf of two commercial real estate developer clients after taking the case over from other counsel after discovery had been completed.
- Successfully attacked the plaintiff's expert's damage calculation in a two-week federal court trial in Mississippi for breach of non-compete agreements, resulting in an award equal to about 10% of the plaintiff's $3 million claim; the court's findings and conclusions of law exceeded 100 pages.
- Won a defense verdict for major telecommunications client in a breach of contract action with a $5+ million dollar damage claim following a seven-day arbitration hearing before a panel of three arbitrators in Washington, D.C.
- Gained the vacation of the trial court's order restraining competitive activities by a telecommunications company following an appeal to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
